Want to be a Referee!
NEW REFEREES ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AT
SOUTHPINE TOUCH.
Southpine Touch conduct introductory referee courses each season according to demand. If you are a new Referee or just want to learn how to ref, Southpine Touch provide regular coaching and support to referees each week if and when required.  Referees are allocated to games according to their experience and skill.
If you have not refereed before but know a little bit about touch, we can start you off by allocating you to one of the social competition games with a senior referee to coach you.
You must be 13 years old to commence refereeing at Southpine Touch. Both males and females are welcome to referee.

All referees at Southpine Touch are paid referees. If you do a dual game you will be paid $15 a game and paid $30 a single game. So thinking of becomming a REF!! (Then see below).
HOW DO I GET STARTED AS A TOUCH REFEREE
STEP 1:

STEP 2:
The Referee Director will organise for you to attend pre course training then followed by a Level 1 Referee Course.
(The course will cover rules of the game and aspects of refereeing techniques you will find useful. The course will run for around 5 and a half hours.)
STEP 3:
Then, attend each week, where you will be placed with a senior referee who will coach you during your games. When you feel comfortable you will be given games on your own. On-going coaching will still be provided.
STEP 4:
Over time, you will be invited to attend various development activities and seminars or courses that, together with coaching will provide the opportunity for you to improve your skills as a referee and be up graded to a higher level.
